Whether you’re looking for a couples maternity session, want to include your kids, or would prefer to keep your pregnancy photos focused on just you and bump, I’m very much here for it all.
My Christchurch maternity photography sessions take place outdoors in the hour before sunset, making the most of that gorgeous soft, natural light. I have a handful of favourite locations for outdoor maternity photos around Christchurch, but if you have somewhere special in mind, I’m always happy to check it out.
Your maternity photo session includes 20 images of your choice from a private online gallery of 80+ images, with the option to add more if you’d like.

When is the best time to have maternity photos?
Around 30–36 weeks is usually the sweet spot for pregnancy photos, when your bump is beautifully defined but you’re hopefully still feeling reasonably comfortable. Every pregnancy is different though, so there’s definitely some flexibility.
Should I get my hair and makeup done for my maternity shoot?
Totally up to you! Professional hair and makeup can be a lovely way to feel extra special for your maternity photos, but it’s definitely not essential. I want you to look and feel like yourself, whether that means professional glam or doing exactly what you normally do.
Can I bring my toddler or older children to my maternity session?
Absolutely! Your maternity session can include your partner and children, and I love capturing this chapter for the whole family. For a couples maternity session in Christchurch, we’ll get plenty of photographs of you together, while families with little ones can expect lots of relaxed, playful moments as well as beautiful photos focused just on you and your bump.
Can I have my bump out for maternity photos?
Absolutely. You can show as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. A fitted dress can beautifully show the shape of your bump, or we can incorporate bump-out photographs with an open shirt, underwear or even nude maternity portraits if that feels right for you.
Do I need to know how to pose for maternity photos?
Not at all. You don't need any experience in front of the camera. I'll guide you throughout your pregnancy photos in Christchurch, from where to put your hands to how to move, while keeping everything relaxed and natural rather than overly posed.
